Panissimo August is Open! Panissimo di Agosto e’ aperto!
One lovely new breads’ collection is out, this time featured on Sandra’s blog, Indovina Chi Viene a Cena? And, most interestingly, the first winners of the first Panissimo challenge have been chosen. June-July’s challenge was “Breads with summer herbs” and we received so many beautiful breads with this theme that it was really difficult to make a choice. There were 5 ex aequo breads and we did not manage to choose only two… so we ended up adding an extra prize…
And the winners are… plase go to Sandra for the complete July’s roundup and learn about the theme challenge’s outcome.
For this month of August I am pleased to host Panissimo again. I know that many of you are on holidays… so there’s no better time to bake some bread!
And since summer is fully blossoming, let me inspire you with the most summery of themes: Breads with Summer Fruits. The theme will be going only during August, and you have until the 31st of the month to submit your breads, by entering your link at the bottom of this page.
Any bread is welcome, but if you need some extra inspiration you are welcome to participate to the monthly theme (and risking of winning a couple of proofing baskets this month) and bake a bread, sweet or savory with summer fruit. Happy baking!
Per questo mese di agosto saro’ io ad ospitare Panissimo. So che molte sono in vacanza, so che magari fa caldo… ma… questo e’ il momento migliore per panificare! I lieviti viaggiano veloci grazie alle elevate temperature e c’e’ abbondanza di tutto… soprattutto di frutta!
Cosi’, non esitare a mandarci qualunque tipo di pane, dolce o salato che sia. La griglia per inserire il tuo link e’ in calce a questo post, hai tempo fino al 31 agosto. E se ti servisse un’ispirazione in piu’, il tema di questo mese, e solo per questo mese di agosto, e’ Pane con la Frutta Estiva. Ovviamente ci sara’ un piccolo premio a fine mese (due cestini professionali per la lievitazione del pane). Buona panificazione!
And here is the complete set of RULES to participate (vedi sotto per le regole in italiano):
1. post a baked good of any type, just make sure it is based on yeast, commercial (fresh or instant yeast) or natural (sourdough or other ferment) or… strictly and only in the case of flatbreads or other special unleavened breads, even without yeast. You can send us as many baked goods you want as long as they are fresh (baked within the 1 month interval of each edition)
2. include in your post a link to me, Barbara of Bread & Companatico, and to Sandra of Indovina chi viene a cena?. If the monthly collection is hosted by someone else, mention ALSO the name of and link to the host.
3. insert the link to your bread posted anytime during the month in the PANISSIMO opening post of the monthly host. A linkage system is placed at the end of each PANISSIMO opening post. A list of hosts for each month can be found in Sandra’s page (and soon also here).
4. every monthly edition will have, together with the free theme which is always welcome (i.e. you can post any type of bread, always), also a specific theme, mostly for extra inspiration and for playing together. Among those who chose to use the monthly theme a “winner” will be selected and a little present assigned. Both theme and present will be chosen and announced by the monthly host.
5. you are welcome to candidate yourself to host PANISSIMO. I bet there will be a waiting list, so don’t be shy!

1. posta qualunque tipo di lievitato, solo assicurati che sia a base di lievito di birra, lievito naturale o… solo nel caso di pani tipo piadina/schiacciata o altri pani speciali, anche nessun lievito e’ ammesso. Puoi mandarci tutti i lievitati che vuoi purche’ siano “freschi” (ossia, pubblicati entro l’intervallo mensile dell’edizione in corso).
2. includi nel tuo post un link al mio blog, Bread & Companatico, e a quello di Sandra di Indovina chi viene a cena?. Se in quel mese specifico un altra persona ospita l’evento, linka ANCHE questa.
3. partecipa aggiungendo il link al tuo post nella griglia inserita nel post di apertura di PANISSIMO per quel mese specifico. Puoi postare in qualsiasi momento del mese. La lista delle persone che ospitano PANISSIMO per ogni mese specifico la trovi nella pagina di Sandra, e presto anche su questi schermi.
4. ogni edizione mensile avra’, in aggiunta al tema libero che e’ sempre essenziale e benvenuto (ossia, posta qualunque tipo di lievitato, sempre) anche un tema specifico, per un’ispirazione in piu’ e per giocare insieme. Tra coloro che sceglieranno di usare il tema del mese sara’ selezionato un “vincitore” cui sara’ assegnato un piccolo premio. Sia il tema che il premio saranno scelti e annunciati dalla persona che ospita la rassegna mensile di PANISSIMO.
5. sentiti libera/o di candidarti per ospitare PANISSIMO. Immagino ci sara’ una lista d’attesa, quindi non essere timida!

Finally I found panissimoo and I am looking forward to submit my bread with you guys, but not this time as I have been thinking high and low and I just simply cannot imagine how fruits would taste nice in a bread.
